Clothing created for a specific purpose delights me – I love the challenge of styling a look within the specific apparel requirements an activity presents. Am I agreeing to the endless skateboarding classes because I fancy skinny jeans and Vans not to mention the crossover possibility of snowboarding ensembles for my son? Am I devastated that my daughter refuses ballet? The nes plus ultra of beautiful purpose driven garments? In a word-Yes. Does she not grasp all the body skimming gossamer knits, floating tulle and pastel prettiness she is denying me?! I am THIS CLOSE to signing up for these new fangled online classes at Ballet Beautiful. Not because I’m in serious need of toning, (which I do need I assure you.) but rather to enjoy the parade of Mary Helen Bowers‘ stunning leotards and various ballet accoutrement. Back to the issue at hand – boring and uninspiring active wear. Ubiquitous black leggings, I’m talking to you. While suffering through the calorie burning class d’jeur why not don a pair of interesting looking compression leggings?? Sweating profusely whilst running in place might just be tolerable while sporting pretty or bold fitness garb. I’m not talking about a fully coordinated outfit. Not looking like you are trying too hard is rule #1. In fact a perfectly louche tank is a great foil for a bold bottom.
